As part of this class you will learn about fabric and color selection, cutting (and cutting safety) using a rotary cutter, seam allowances and how to accurately piece, correct application of borders, various quilting/finishing methods, and binding.
You will need your own sewing machine and rotary cutter as part of this class. (additional necessary materials can be found on the class page linked above). Class cost is $50.
If you'd like to preview the proper way to use a rotary cutter, please view our video: Rotary Cutting Basics
Bring your machine and your latest project every Friday. We open at 9 and you are welcome all day. If you need a little assistance, we are always glad to help. We generally order out for lunch at one of the nearby restaurants, but you are welcome to bring your lunch if you prefer. A full kitchen with microwave and refrigerator is available. We also have Keurig of coffee to keep you going throughout the day. This is a free gathering.
Learn and prefect your machine quilting skills on your domestic machine. (Yes, you can quilt a king sized quilt on your own machine!) This group of ladies gathers the second Monday of each month from around 9:30 - 2:30 (times are flexible. We just ask that you plan to leave before we close for the day). We tend to order out and pick up lunch so you don't have to stop sewing. It's a great time to learn a skill. (find it on our schedule here) Cost per person is $5. You receive a $5 coupon with your fee.
Block of the Month starts every year in February with new pattern. We pick patterns that allow you to use your stash fabric, or you can find fun new things from here in the shop. This class has two sessions, on Wednesday afternoon and one Saturday morning. The class cost varies depending on the pattern, but attempt to keep it a bargain! This year's block of the month will incorporate the Studio 180 ruler series. Sign up online here or stop out at the shop!
