Instructor Bio: Liz Granberg-Jerome, the owner of Gypsy Dreamer Quilts, was born and raised in California's San Francisco Bay Area. She moved to Kansas in 1983 to raise her children in the slower paced Midwest, and after more than 30 years fully considers herself a Kansan. Liz started quilting in 2006 while caring for her elderly father and quickly made the transition from a lifetime of sewing to becoming passionate about quilting. Her quilts have a flavor all their own as she creates unique layouts and color play for one-of-a-kind quilts. She considers herself a prolific quilter as she has made well over 100 quilts! Several of Liz's hexified panel quilts have been published in two of Maxine Rosenthal's books on One Block Wonders. Wanderlust: Paris in Spring and Poppy Explosion were both included in One Block Wonders of the World (C&T Publishing 2017). Rosenthal's latest book, One Block Wonder Panel Quilts (C&T Publishing 2021) includes five of Liz's quilts--Garden Rendezvous Reimagined, Roosters, Poppy Explosion, Tuscan Poppies, and Dancing in the Moonlight. Liz teaches a variety of classes at Quilters' Paradise in Baldwin City, Kansas, as well as her Hexified Panel Quilt workshops at other regional shops. Her teaching has taken her as far as California to teach her Hexified Panel Quilt workshop, as well as across Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. She looks forward to taking her quilts on the road beyond the Heartland region of the Midwest. She is a member of the Maple Leaf Quilt Guild, Kaw Valley Quilters Guild, Emporia Regional Quilt Guild, and the Mo-Kan Machine Quilters Guild. She enjoys working on quilt projects with her husband, Leslie, a fellow quilter, and going to quilt retreats with friends. Away from quilting, Liz and Les enjoy listening to an eclectic array of music, traveling, and spending time with their grandchildren.
